Cathedral window pillow

I can finally show you the prototype for my sofa cushions. The pattern is known as “Cathedral Window” and you can find many tutorials for it on youtube. It looks fantastic, however, it takes a whole lot of folding and ironing to get there. It is worth it, though. The cushion is made out of four 10″ squares per row with 2.5 ” little squares inside. Therefore you can use a layer cake and a mini charm pack to avoid the cutting. The finished cushion has a size of 18 “.

For all of you who are like me wondering how big the squares have to be for a certain size cushion, I programmed a cathedral window calculator. You can chose how big your cushion should be and how many squares you want each row to have. Then you click “calculate” and it tells you how big to cut the inner and outer squares. Cool, eh? By the way, I am just a hobby programmer and this stu… calculator almost kept me from sleeping because I just couldn’t get it to work correctly. However, good things come to those who wait. And so I can finally introduce it to you. I hope, it helps you as much as it helps me. Of course, you can also use it to calculate a whole quilt. This will be my new project for the next (ten) year(s) 😉
